Compare GitKraken Desktop and GitHub Desktop for merge conflict resolution

GitKraken Desktop and GitHub Desktop both help make git easier to work with. But, how they do that will differ.

One example is how they handle Merge Conflict resolution. Both will identify a merge conflict, but GitKraken Desktop provides several utilities in the app that make the process easier for the user.

GitKraken Desktop allows you to pick and choose which parts of a conflict should be merged while GitHub Desktop simply prompts the user to open the merge conflict in their editor of choice.

GitHub Desktop does offer a small bit of choosing one side of the conflict over another but it is not nearly as fine-grained as the GitKraken Desktop merge conflict resolution tool.

GitKraken Desktop also provides the ability for GitKraken AI to resolve the merge conflict automatically.
